How Flying at Flight Providers Helped Shape a Thriving Aviation Career
When Phillip Sizemore joined Flight Providers as a jump pilot in 2018, he had a commercial single-engine rating and a passion for flying. Two years of piloting skydivers at the drop zone opened doors he never imagined and set the foundation for an extraordinary aviation journey.
Building the Foundation
Phillip fondly remembers the weekends spent at Flight Providers, hanging out with a special group of people who had a knack for making skydiving seem like second nature. He recalls the camaraderie and the excitement of events like the Shawshank Challenge and night jumps.
Beyond the fun, Phillip credits his time at Flight Providers with giving him valuable hours and experience. “The hours and experience helped me to get to fly some really nice planes later,” he shared.
From Skydiving Pilot to Aviation Pro
Fast forward to today, and Phillip’s aviation resume is nothing short of impressive. With nearly 4,000 total flight hours, including 920 hours of multi-engine time, Phillip has earned certifications as a MEI (Multi-Engine Instructor) and CFII (Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument).
Currently, Phillip is piloting an Epic E1000GX, Baron 58, Merlin IIA, and TBM 850, each representing significant milestones in his progression as an aviator. His story is a testament to how jump piloting can be a stepping stone to reaching new heights in aviation.
